Right now in Garage 48′s Tartu event going on RipeRecipe is launching a mobile recipe application. This is how the apps work, first, you select a recipe from RipeRecipe.com. Then, the shopping list with the ingredients appears on your phone. RipeRecipe mobile app arranges the order of ingredients on the shopping list so that picking the items results in least walking in the shop. That is, the ingredient at the top of the list is the one closest to entry point and the last is the last one before the cashier.

RipeRecipe belongs to one of the teams  in Garage 48 whose  events started in Estonia in April 2010 and have expanded to other countries in Northern Europe and Africa since then. All Garage48 events are held in English and have about 100 participants from different countries. Participants have different skills, ranging from software development to design, marketing and management. The team members of Ripe Recipe are Aleksi Niemelä, Piret-Klea Velleste, Tomasz Mucha, Dmitri Zutsskov, Asko Seeba, Juha Kovanen.

Garage48 events usually start at 5pm on a Friday evening. All participants gather together in a big room and pitch about 30 to 40 ideas on stage. Each idea is put on the wall and everyone can choose their favourite idea and team. Usually about 12-15 ideas will be selected and teams start working. Steps are also taken to make sure that the top teams from Garage48 continue their progress on international scale. They have  joined forces with Seedcamp (http://www.seedcamp.com), Europe’s leading seed investment program.
To use the RipeRecipe apps all you need to do is subscribe for an early invite on their home page http://riperecipe.com also you can follow them on Facebook
