Five Ways to Have Good Oral Hygiene while Travelling

Woman smiling while on beach travelHaving good oral hygiene during a long trip can be a challenge sometimes, especially during long-haul flights. You won’t have access to everything you need, i.e. water and a sink.

Nonetheless, there are things that you can bring to keep your breath fresh and your teeth clean until your next visit to your cosmetic dentist in Los Angeles.

Your Toothbrush

First, start by packing your toothbrush. While doing so, keep it in a holder case that has proper ventilation. Keeping it in a case with no holes in it can make bacteria grow on it, which can be super harmful to your oral hygiene. While you’re at it, keep it dry after use, so moisture won’t invite the bacteria in.

Travel Sizes

Get small versions of your toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash. You should bring a foldable toothbrush, too. Keep these in your carry-on baggage so you can reach for it whenever you need it. Plus, they’re cute – so that’s definitely a plus.

Bring a Bottled Water

Always carry a bottle of water with you, so whenever you feel like brushing your teeth, you can do so. It’s always easier to maintain a healthy oral hygiene when there’s water around.

Bring Mints and Gum

Before going on a long trip, make sure you have got yourself a pack of gum and mints. Sugar-free ones are the best as they wouldn’t hurt your teeth and your health as well.

Consume Less Sugar

Keep your sugar intake on the down until you can brush your teeth and floss. Sugar is bad, and during vacations, people treat themselves to treats all the time. This will keep you from feeling icky all throughout the trip.

Maintaining good oral hygiene during a long trip is definitely doable. Just follow these tips and bring the right stuff and you’re good to go.
